Insight Venture Partners, a leading software and Internet-focused New York private equity and venture capital firm, announced the appointments of Richard Wells and Alex Crisses as Managing Directors of the firm.
“Richard and Alex have been instrumental in the success of Insight during the past decade and will provide superb leadership as partners,” said Jeff Horing, Managing Director of Insight Venture Partners. “They will be instrumental in helping us deploy the $2 billion of capital we raised last year, and will continue to work closely with executives at their respective portfolio companies, with whom they’ve developed strong trust.”
Alex Crisses, 31, is a 10-year veteran at Insight Venture Partners and focuses on infrastructure software and Internet investments. Prior to joining Insight, Crisses worked as an investment- banking analyst at Credit Suisse First Boston. A graduate of the Wharton School of Business, he also earned an MBA and graduated as a Baker Scholar from the Harvard Business School. He lives in New York with his wife and daughter.
Richard Wells, 34, joined Insight Venture Partners in 2005 after working at Technology Crossover Ventures, Veritas Software (now part of Symantec) and Paciolan Systems (now part of Ticketmaster.) He graduated with highest honors from the University of Pennsylvania and earned an MBA at the Harvard Business School.
